Our new offices in Bucharest

In 2014 we founded Smartbridge BDC in Bucharest to faster develop our software Event Commander. Event Commander is Europe's leading provider of a fully web-based staff planning software and job market place for staff on demand. The software is used in the field of staffing agencies, catering, promotion, security, hospitality and sport stadiums.

2016, two years later, we moved to brand new offices in the heart of Bucharest. The new location in Sector 4 at Strada Bucur 16 offers state of the art working spaces, a recreation area, a terrace to party, a great kitchen, a table tennis area and of course excellent free coffee.

New Event Commander Apps – Calendar is getting synched


Event Commander never stops. Development keeps going on many different levels and layers.

The new releases of Android and iPhone Apps have been available for a few weeks by now.

The most important update concerns the calendar. It’s now being synched with the EC App so that employees may never forget any pending event.


With the new release we’re very proud introduce push messaging. The most important Information now pops up directly on the employee’s smartphone. Furthermore we’re allowing the staff to change preferences within the app.

Just one year ago Smartbridge opened offices in Leuven, Belgium to launch Event Commander in the Benelux. Ever since, Event commander has grown out as the most popular event staff planning software in Belgium.

Today, our software plans more then 2'000 flexible employees per day in Belgium. Many employees rely on our user friendly apps to get their briefings, flexible work schedules and data instantly.


They are working on both small and large events like De Ronde van Vlaanderen, Memorial Van Damme, Gentse Feesten, and Tomorrowland. Staff planners on the other hand, can keep the overview easily and intervene whenever they want.

Eventcommander focuses on complex planning issues and works independently from salary or payroll engines. This makes this software not only interesting for small event agencies, but also for interim company such as Manpower and Flexpoint who can easily integrate their salary engine and large staffing companies such as Golazo, G4S, Point Events, The Frontline Company  and many more.

Event Commander conquers Benelux Countries

Event Commander is taking over Europe. While Austrian, German and Swiss companies have successfully been working with our Staff Management Software for a while now, Belgium is still pretty young on our map. 

The quick growth of the Belgian market encouraged us to open a subsidiary. Customers in the Benelux area will now be supervised by our office in Leuven near Brussels.

Event Commander new to Berlin!

The geographic expansion of Event Commander is growing steadily. After setting its marks in german cities such as Aachen, Leipzig and Dresden, we’re proud to announce that we put a foot on the ground of the german capital. Right in the center of Berlin can Fuldwerk be found.

The well-known staff provider has chosen Event Commander due to its easy to use interface and the fact that everything is web-based.

Adding Berlin on the list, Event Commander is now represented in 21 cities throughout Europe. These are spread out in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. At the end of 2014 about 30’000 people will be getting scheduled with Event Commander.

Amazing staff planning – at the SCL Tigers and at the Zoo in Zurich


We’re very proud to introduce two new customers who couldn’t be more different from one another.

The Hockey Club SCL Tigers has been working with Event Commander since June 1. 2014. The goal of this launch was to ensure efficient planning with temporary staff and accounting management of the many employees who help to ensure a solid service for the fans during a game.

The Zoo Restaurants GmbH provides the culinary all-round support in the Zürich Zoo and in the related companies. To fulfill this purpose, a team of temporary staff is employed. Staff planning happens real time with Event Commander. As well as to keep track of all relevant details of labor assignments. A very well designed project management helps the planners to keep the overview.


At first glance, these two customers are far from having anything in common, except probably their affinity for wildlife. 

Why exactly online staff planning?

Event Commander was developed for the scheduling of flexible, temporary and part- time employees. If you are running a company with mainly part- time employees (staff on call for hourly wages), you’re probably facing fairly high coordination costs. On one hand you’ll have to identify the needs for every single event, check which employees are experienced enough and find out whether they’re also available or not. On the other hand, your employees will need to be able to notify you whether they’re available or not. Once you’ve collected and prepared all necessary information needed for a definitive scheduling, all of the intended staff must be informed about their schedule/working hours.
